Learn the basics of archery on a recurve bow.
You will be fitted with the correct-sized bow and other gear, then given instructions on safety and how to shoot the bow.
Children must be at least 9 years old and are strong enough to draw an 7 kg bow.
Class sizes are restricted to 18.
Archery is a very safe sport but can be dangerous if instructions are not followed. The instructor will exclude any person from the class who risks injury to themselves, others, archery equipment or any other safety breach
The lesson begins at 10:00am and finishes at 1:00pm. You should arrive before 9:45am. For safety reasons those arriving after 10:00 will not be permitted to commence the class.
Bring Water, Hat, Food and a SMILE!
Enclosed footwear is essential! For safety reasons open-toe sandals and thongs are not allowed to be worn on the archery range.
Under our insurance cover policy, EVERYONE must have a Temporary Membership (free) – You will be sent a form prior to the class to complete and bring to the class; or, you can complete one at the club before the class begins.
Everyone attending the class and parents or visitors should come down to the field to sign on at the desk. Look for the entry sign at the top of the stairs to get to the field.
Cost is $50.00 per person for equipment hire and training. The full fee is required to secure your booking.
We cater for a maximum of 18 people per morning.
Parking under trees for shade is NOT recommended due to the possibility of falling branches damaging vehicles.
Club ground is located at 427 Wacol Station Road, Sumner (approx. 200 metres South of the intersection with Sumners Road.)
Look out for the big “Centenary Archers Club” sign near the driveway!
